Q: What will my salary be?
A: English Language Students (Petroleum Engineering Students only) - $3,500 per month
Bachelors Engineering Student - $5,500 per month
Q: Do you accept high school graduates of the Arts Stream?
A: No. Only the Science Stream graduates are considered.
Q: What GPA or % do you require to grant a scholarship?
A: 2.5/80% is required
Q: Do you require English proficiency testing (IELTS/TOEFL)?
A: Yes. The required score for IELTS is 6.0 and TOEFL 80%
Q: Will my airplane tickets be paid for?
A: Yes, twice a year. Business Class.
Q: Do I apply for the university myself?
A: Yes. You should apply and produce your own admission, from an ADNOC-approved university.
Q: If I have done a full medical checkup at a local hospital, will I still have to do another one at the ADNOC Medical Clinic?
A: Yes. This is a requirement for all scholarship applicants.
Q: Do I have to come to the scholarship office even though I filled out the online application?
A: Yes, because we would like to meet you! There are also a few papers that need to be filled out and you must bring in some necessary documents.
Q: Where is the scholarship office located?
A: We are located at the Nation Towers in the Office Tower (entrance at back, not Corniche side) on the 30th Floor. Location map:
Q: Are my university books paid for?
A: Yes. You will receive $1,200 a year for books and clothing.
Q: Do I need to find my own housing in my country of study?
A: Yes, and your housing is included in your monthly stipend (student salary). Plus you will receive a one-time payment of $2,400 for a 6 night hotel stay when first arriving in your country of study.
Q: When can I apply?
A: Our office hours are for first time applicants: Sunday – Wednesday 8:00am – 12:00pm

Q: What bachelor degrees for scholarship do you offer?
A: Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Geoscience and Geophysics, and others by special approval only
Q: Will I have an ADNOC advisor once I am in my country of study?
A: Yes. You will be given your advisor’s contact information before departure.
Q: Can I travel back to the UAE when I want?
A: Yes, you can travel home to the UAE at the end of each semester.
Q: Will I have insurance coverage?
A: Yes, the cost of student insurance is included for all scholarship students. Most scholars should sign up for university-provided insurance plans.
Q: What GPA must I maintain to remain on ADNOC Scholarship?
A: An absolute minimum GPA is 2.0. Any lower and a student’s scholarship will be cancelled.
Q: If I maintain a high GPA, will I be rewarded?
3.0 – 3.49 GPA will receive $4,000
3.5 and above will receive a $8,000 reward.
Rewards are given 2 semesters a year; Fall and Spring (Winter).
Q: How long does it take to get a Bachelors Degree?
A: Usually four years.
Q: Do you send students for English Language?
A: Yes, but only students that will be registering for Petroleum engineering. All others are expected to reach the needed English proficiency on their own.
Q: What is the weather like in America?
A: It depends what part of America you live in. The north has harsh winters and warm summers, the south has mild winters and hot summers, etc.
Q: Is there are chance for summer training while I am on holiday during the summer months?
A: Yes, summer training is for students that have finished their 2nd year (sophomore becoming a junior). When you are at that point in your education, summer training will be arranged with ADNOC.
Q: How long will I be working at ADNOC after the completion of my education?
A: You will work for ADNOC Group for the same number of years as you were sponsored by ADNOC.
Q: Do you send students for Masters or PhD?
A: Only current employees of the ADNOC Group can be sent on their masters or PhD, pending approval by their company and the Scholarship Committee.
